Welcome!

Described as 'Freelander World!' ALW Motor Vehicle Engineering was established in 2012.

Having had a life-long hobby rebuilding classic cars, I have now developed a new business in beautiful rural North Devon, now with a newly refurbished and fitted out workshop.

People love or hate Freelanders. Generally owners love them and on lookers hate them. Are they 'real' Land Rovers? Having owned a Freelander TD4 for over 10 years and from experience of increasing the mileage in my ownership by over 100,000 miles my view is that they are a very good utility / comfortable car compromise.

The vehicles benefit from being relatively simple to work on (with a few exceptions!). They are now very realistically priced and cost significantly less to own than many of the competitors.

This website is about Freelanders. So if you have one or want some help please read on. If you don't have one then read on anyway - it may just make you think about owning one for yourself.

ALW Motor Vehicle Eng.

A trained and chartered Electrical Engineer having a MSc in Mechanical Engineering and working in safety critical engineering for over 30 years, Andrew has rebuilt and refurbished many classic cars in his spare time.

Fortunate enough to take early retirement in 2012 he established this company, initally refurbishing MGB and classic car spares.

On moving to rural North Devon he has now focussed purely on Land Rover Freelander 1 vehicles (1998 - 2006).
